Guanosine triphosphate, labeled on the gamma phosphate group with 35S (GTP?S), is used in GTP binding assays with cell membrane preparations as a functional assay for certain classes of GPCRs. It is hydrolyzed slowly, and is considered a non-hydrolyzable analog for GTP binding assays.
