產(chǎn)品介紹 Sulfite oxidase (SO), a homodimeric protein that localizes to the intermembrane space of mitochondria, catalyzes the oxidation of sulfite to sulfate, the terminal reaction in the oxidative degradation of the sulfur amino acids cysteine and methionine. Genetic deficiency of SO contributes to neurological abnormalities and often leads to death at an early age. Mutation of Arginine 160 in humans decreases the intramolecular electron transfer (IET) rate, which contributes to the fatality of this genetic disorder. Also, the tyrosine 343 residue in humans plays an important role in both substrate binding and oxidation of sulfite by SO. The human SO gene maps to chromosome 12, and shows high expression in liver, kidney, skeletal muscle, heart, placenta and brain.

DISEASE : Defects in SUOX are the cause of isolated sulfite oxidase deficiency (ISOD) [MIM:272300]; also 塔格糖號：87-81-0known as sulfocysteinuria. ISOD is characterized by neurological abnormalities including multicystic leukoencephalopathy with brain atrophy. Patients often suffer from seizures. Often leads to death at an early age.

產(chǎn)品介紹 SCUBE3 is a novel secreted 993 amino acid cell-surface osteoblast protein that plays an important role in bone cell biology. While highly expressed in osteoblasts, SCUBE3 expression is unobservable or very low in non-bone tissues. SCUBE3 forms homo-oligomers and hetero-oligomers with SCUBE1, and may undergo C-terminal proteolytic cleavage or become N-glycosylated following translation. Two SCUBE3 isoforms exist as a result of alternative splicing events. SCUBE3 contains one CUB domain and nine EGF-like domains, and is encoded by a gene which maps to human chromosome 6p21.31, a region associated with a rare form of metabolic bone disease known as Paget's disease. Chromosome 6 contains 170 million base pairs and comprises nearly 6% of the human genome.
Function : Binds to TGFBR2 and activates TGFB signaling. In lungcancer cells, could serve as an endogenous autocrine and paracrineligand of TGFBR2, which could regulate TGFBR2 signaling and hencemodulate epithelial-mesenchymal transition and cancer progression.
Subunit : Forms homooligomers and heterooligomers with SCUBE1.Interacts with TGFBR2 through the CUB domain; this interaction doesnot affect TGFB1-binding to TGFBR2.
Subcellular Location : Secreted. Cell surface.
Tissue Specificity : Highly expressed in osteoblasts. Expression is low or absent in non-bone tissues.
